I absolutely love to cook at home, but when I don’t feel like cooking we will definitely be at one of the places on this list! .
Breakfast:
Charlie’s Main Street Cafe, a small downtown diner with all of the Minot staples; caramel roll, knoephla soup, hot beef sandwich, and kuchen. Being that it’s a diner really it is good any time of day, but we almost always have breakfast here. I highly recommend the Tiffany Scramble.
Kroll’s Diner is an old style diner where you can sit at the bar and get a hand-scooped milkshake, and you can get breakfast anytime of day!
Minot’s Daily Bread, which I mentioned in my Minot Top 5 post.
Broadway Bean & Bagel, has delicious bagel breakfast sandwiches, you can visit our Minot coffee shops post to learn about my favorites to eat there.
Prairie Sky Breads just opened their brick and mortar location in February 2020. Their scones are one of my favorite things to get, so far I like the raspberry white chocolate the best!
There is one bakery in town that you cannot miss, and that place is Cookies for You! They have a variety of giant cookies and Andrew and I love to grab one and walk around downtown.
Lunch/Dinner:
Baan Rao is not only a Thai restaurant, but also an asian market. Every time we go here I get a Thai Tea, and Noodle Tom Yum, a spicy sour broth with glass noodles.
Souris River Brewing has a great menu! They have a lot of variety, including bison or elk burgers, bison brats with rutabaga mash, and the best homemade cheesecake in town. Just the other night we had a slice of the honey vanilla cheesecake, and honestly could have eaten the entire cheesecake! They do have their own beers on tap, I had their Peanut Brown Sour and it was one of the best beers that I have had from SRB.
The Starving Rooster is the most well known restaurant in town. This is the place where you take guests when they come to town. TSR has a very family friendly menu, I really love their pizzas. We always go on a Tuesday because you can grab a pint of ND brewed beers for $4! TSR also does brunch on Sundays, and did I mention the bottomless mimosas for $10?!
Thai Hot 2 is a super casual spot for ramen bowls and fried sushi.
Taco Feliz is a new fast food Mexican restaurant with some really authentic flavors. Pictured are the Enchiladas Verdes, we also had the Al Pastor dish with rice, beans, and tortillas.
Ebeneezer’s is Minot’s downtown Irish Pub. You honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, as long as you get a side of Irish Fries with Beenez’ sauce.
Off the Vine is a wine and tapas bar downtown. They have a great wine list, beers on tap, and a pretty typical tapas menu. They do offer wine pairing classes and other fun events!
Local Tip: If you like sushi, but don’t have time to wait at a restaurant, you can actually get some pretty delicious sushi at the North Hill Marketplace Foods. #travellikealocal
If you live in or visit Minot, I highly recommend that you support local and try out some of my favorite places in town!
