About Us

We are sisters, Amanda is the redhead, and Liz is the blonde. Amanda is older, but shorter! We have an older brother as well. Our family is from central PA, but now we are both off to different places. Sometimes in this blog you will see us traveling separately, but we also love to plan trips together and they are always the most fun! You can read more about each of us below, but here's the story of how this blog came to be:

The idea started in the summer of 2019 when Amanda mentioned that she might start a travel blog. We talked about how it would be so much fun to do together so that we can share our travels and stay connected even while living far apart. But, for a while we didn't go for it.

Then, months later in February 2020, Liz was on a short visit to Charlotte, NC. She was trying to find things to do in her one day and was frustrated that all she could find were the standard museums and places of interest. These things are great, but there's so much more to a place than that!

So, she texted Amanda and said "we need to start that travel blog!" Amanda was in, and within a day we had the name, and within a week our website was set-up.

We are so excited to share the places we have visited and the interesting things we've done in each place, which are sometimes off the beaten path. For those taking a trip, crossing through a town, or even living nearby, maybe you will be inspired to see the place a little differently.

I am the middle child of 3, born and raised in central Pennsylvania. After 5 years of long distance and many trips to Colorado where he went to college, I married my high school sweetheart, Andrew. Being in the military, Andrew's job moved us to Minot, North Dakota and he will be joining me on many of my adventures.

We have lived in 2 different apartments, rescued one dog named Frederik, and have pretty much explored every inch of this city (and every city around Minot we can get to by car). After living here for 2 and a half years I love everything about the Magic City, except for those long weeks of negative temperatures.

I love coffee and my favorite drink is a caramel latte because you can get it just about any coffee shop you visit. This is how I decide whether I like a coffee shop or not, would I come back and get a caramel latte again, or was the latte so good that I would be interested in coming back to try something different. Keep an eye out for my #caramelcritique as I taste caramel lattes everywhere I go!

I also love beer and wine tasting, which is often where I begin my research of a place that I am going to travel to. I’m excited to share some of my favorite breweries and wineries with you!

I am typically a city person, but I also really enjoy the outdoors. Hiking is great as long as there is a nice view to make the trek uphill worth it! (Even if it means climbing a mountain with no trail and running into scorpions along the way-surely I'll tell that story someday.)

When I travel I always look for a performance to attend. I love concerts, musicals, plays, comedy shows, and more. I have even taken a 5 hour road trip in a snowstorm to see one of my favorite bands. Some of my favorite shows have been Imagine Dragons, the Head and the Heart, and the Cold War Kids.

I'm also a vegetarian, so my blog posts usually will highlight my favorite vegetarian food on a trip. Look for #veryveggie to learn about menus that I found to be especially vegetarian friendly!

Despite being the youngest of the family, I have lived in the most places- from college in New Jersey, to the Peace Corps in Morocco, to jumping from place-to-place with my military boyfriend, Ken. Throughout our blogs you will learn more about my experiences in places I have already been, and you can follow along as life continues to take me in unexpected directions.
